Hey all,
snowed in... it's been snowing/blizzarding all weekend! It started Friday night and hasn't really stopped. It's crazy!

My birthday was pretty cool. Nothing really happened the way I was hoping it would but it was nice nonetheless. Now I am 18. It's weird, I still can't really believe it.

YVONNE hatte auch Geburtstag! Alles Gute... ein bisschen nachher.

From one of the nights when Mercury was at Maximum Western Elongation. It's hard to see it at all in this picture and after I shrank it, it's not even visible at all... but the oval on the left is Venus and the other one is supposed to have Mercury inside of it.

From this morning... the snow blower sure got a work out.

I went sledding yesterday and shoveled a lot today. Yay, snow! I don't want to go to school again tomorrow... I should be doing homework but I thought I should put up some pictures instead.

COLD!

Monday school was cancelled. Because.. it was too cold! I don't remember how cold it actually got... but it was amazing.

Tuesday was a half day.

I have a new job! Walgreens. Pharmacy Technician. I quit Target, I work my last two days this weekend. I'm having second thoughts, though, so I am going to see if I can take a Leave of Absense instead and then work there over spring break and summer or something. We'll see.

2 weeks until my birthday! I still don't know what I'm going to do.

I am working on a German project right now. Tomorrow is my final exam and we need to present about a German artist. Somewhere along the line I never heard the part about them needing to be German (go figure), so my guy, Yves Tanguy, happens to be French. But I'm finally done with it (I think...) so I decided to upload some of these older pics.

Finals week is going alright. This is the first time in my life I've actually decided to study for finals. Hehe. Yesterday I had Chem Com and Ancient World. Those went okay... today I had Math and Astronomy. Mr. Camosy graded our Astronomy tests already because they are on a Scanton sheet. I got an 83%. Hopefully I still have an A in the class....

Tomorrow I have English and German and Friday I have to go in for Orchestra rehearsal. Woohoo?

BUT tomorrow Sisi and I are getting pancakes after school. Yay, pancakes!

Hi all.

But break finished with a bang. I went to Milwaukee with Tim, Julia and Dan to visit Andy aka A-Day. It was super fun.
Going back to school was bad but this week has gone by especially quickly which is always nice. Tomorrow it's back to work again... we'll see how that goes.

Hello.
Yesterday mom and I drove up to Green Bay for a tour. It was a nice campus but it was too far away from the city. The city itself wasn't too impressive... I don't think I want to go there.
I don't know if I said before or not that I have been accepted to UW Milwaukee and that I am on the waiting list at Minnesota Twin Cities... those are the only three places I applied to. If I don't get into Minnesota then I guess I'll go to Milwaukee.

I keep forgetting to take my camera places with me.

Winter break's been going well, I haven't really been up to much, though.

Hey. Thanksgiving was fun, it was good to see Grandma. I'll put pictures on here eventually from that day.

But now I have some older pictures that I took one night when I couldn't sleep.

Ich wollte eigentlich schon Monate lang mein Haus und so fotographieren, damit ihr (die Deutsche!) das ansehen koennen, aber es hat so lange gedauert, bis ich mein Zimmer endlich aufgeraeumt habe. Es ist auch schwer zu fotographieren weil es so klein ist, aber... naja! Keine Ahnung, so sieht mein Zimmer aus...

Hey everyone.

We had a half day today and tomorrow no school at all! Parent-teacher conferences. So you know what that means... staying up late on the computer!

Sadly I don't have too many pictures to show. My dad took a lot of pictures at the 3 different rowing regattas but at the moment I am too lazy to pick out the best ones, resize them, upload them and then post them... maybe another day! But if you missed the other ones, check a couple enties back because I posted some from the Rockford race.

Here are some older ones, though.

HALLOWEEN - story.
Night before: October 30, 2006
Mom and I go to Copp's grocery store to buy pumpkins. They have one sickly, lumpy, brownish gross pumkin so we decide to look at Target. None. Wal*Mart? None. Woodman's? None. CUB FOODS???? NONE! So, no one has pumpkins. At Copp's I made a sly joke about carving Honeydew melons instead and my mom took this joke seriously once we hit Cub Foods. So that's what we ended up doing. They actually turned out quite well! Tim and I carved them. Mine's on the left, Tim's on the right.

ANOTHER STORY - some day....
Dad told me to look outside in the backyard because Treasure was sleeping in the leaves and looked cute. I decided to take a picture of him to send to Julia. So I sneak outside, all nonchalant and all so as not to startle him into standing up. I put my camera down to the ground and use my special skillz to snap a picture of him. It didn't work too well, and by this point Treasure gets up and starts walking over to me. Frantic, I put my camera down to ground level and snap another blind shot. I pick it up and look at the display and an SHOCKED!!! This is what I see:

I couldn't take another picture that cool looking ever again, even if I tried....

So, I suppose that's all I really have to say right now. We have two weeks off of rowing and I'm using this time to goof off, read a bit more and just sit and relax. I still haven't cleaned my room yet, though, but I say I will do it tomorrow. Will it happen??? Probably not.

Grandma Peg is coming next week for Thanksgiving!!!!!!

Alright, I'm tired. It's been a fun day. Tomorrow will be cool, except for the whole going to work part of it.

What the hay. I'll just add more pictures now.

The other day our German classes took a field trip to New Glarus, the Swiss town about half an hour from Madison.

Another day I took my camera on the way to Rowing after school.

Days off! We have today and yesterday off of school.

Wednesday night I went to the Hellogoodbye concert in Milwaukee, my first real concert other than local things. It was really cool. The opening bands weren't the best and the kids there in the crowd got annoying. I actually almost left because I got so annoyed. I'm glad we stayed though. Kathleen went with me. We were up pretty close, too. We got home around 2am and I slept until 1pm. Hehe. So yesterday I tried to clean my room, went to crew, and then did stuff with some people. Nothing exciting but at the same time it is because it's nothing at all. A nice break.
So I finally got the time to resize and upload some pictures on here! I have a whole lot, so I'll just do some now and the rest later I guess.... or who knows. I'll start off with the most exciting ones-the ones Dad took a couple weekends ago at our first race in Rockford!

Hey everyone,
it feels like it's been forever. The first couple weeks of school are going fine. It's hard learning how to manage my time but that seems to be working out well, too.

I have a cold or something now, though. I didn't participate at crew practice and today I went home from school at 12 and slept for 4 straight hours. I still feel weird, though.

College applications... I finished my online one to Minnesota but I need to finish up my Milwaukee one tonight. I don't really want to go there, though, but I need a backup.

I've been missing Germany a lot, though. Life here just isn't as fun as the end over there was. But that's why I'm working - so I can go back in a year and a half.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures today. There isn't much worth photographing at the moment.

Not much news otherwise.

irgendwie fuehlt es sich wie Ewigkeit. Diese erste paar Wochen in der Schule gingen gut. Es ist schwer, weil ich so viel jeden Tag mache. Ich habe nie Zeit zu verschlafen, am Wochenende auch nicht.

Ich bin erkaeltet oder so... ich bin heute frueh von der Schule nach Hause gekommen und habe 4 Stunden geschlafen.

Ich betrage auf Colleges an... (kann man das so sagen??) Der Prozess ist stressig.

Ich vermisse Deutschland! Das Leben hier ist langweilig. Die letzte Monate in Deutschland haben so viel Spass gemacht...

Moni, du hattest Recht - ich denke, dass ich deutsche Leute ueberall sehe! AHH. Sowas macht man verrueckt.

Ich habe leider keine Fotos zu zeigen. Was konnte ich fotographieren? Was wollt ihr sehen??? Wenn ihr mir was sagt, dann mache ich Fotos.

Today was my first day of school since... like forever. (Memorial school, that is). It's hard and long and annoying... but yeah. I just wanted to update this quickly. I have some pictures from my weekend trip to Milwaukee/Chicago and also from a garage sale I had on Saturday, but now I have to go do my homework. I haven't even started it yet and I just want to get into bed right now, I'm so tired. Alright, hopefully I'll have time later this week... but with rowing and homework and then this job on the weekends who know!?

Sunday we had a pizza party! Peg, Don, Dave, Tony, Robin, Jackson and Alison all came over and we ate lots of dad-made pizza. It was really fun! More fun than Middleton's Good Neighbor Festival we went to afterwards... everything was closing down and the Carnies were closing in by the time we got there, so we ended up beating that place and went to the new Walgreens in Middleton and stopping by Taco Bell for some Plemonade and hitting up some park all before bed time.

Yesterday we all had days off of work so the family took a trip to Devil's Lake and Parfrey's Glen. This was at Parfrey's.

Alrighty, gotta go eat something and play some viola. I have to work later for four hours, too. My feet and knees are still sore from the first day but I suppose I'll get used to it. At least I hope. I finally got out on the floor the other day, though, but some slackers trained me so I don't know what'll be in store for today.

Today was my first day working at Target. They train all their floor people as cashiers, so that's what went down today for 5 hours. I got to be on my own at the end and my old Pick 'n Save cashierness kicked back in. It was pretty cool and went by surprisingly fast. Some guy came up and was like "You can go home" and I said "It's 9 already?" Hopefully the 8 hours of training tomorrow goes by quickly, too... man.

Tomorrow = buying concert tickets for hellogoodbye. *excitement*

I'm really tired because some guys came over at early o' clock to trim our tree.

Chikago!
I took the 2pm bus down on Friday and met Kathleen at the Amtrak station. We took a cab to the hotel where she and her family were staying on the 39 floor of the 40 floor hotel. On the 40 floor there was a pool. Friday Kathleen, Maria and I went out and got some food and looked around. Back at the hotel we went swimming and Bobby kept dunking me. Then we all went out to Virgin Records and the Cheesecake Factory. We ended up going to bed really late. The next day we got up at noon. Haha. Kathleen and I had to stay in the room with the dog until later when she and I walked around going to Hard Rock, Rainforest, H&M, Walgreens... it was cool. Yesterday we had a late checkout so we got to hang around a bit longer but then we had to hit the traffic and go home. It was really fun. Sunday when we wanted to go somewhere earlier everyone else was checking out so the elevator never came and I proposed we climb up to the 40 floor and take the whole staircase down. We did. It was exhilirating.

>Freitag bin ich mit dem 14uhr Bus nach Chicago gefahren. Da habe ich Kathleen am Bahnhof getroffen. Wir sind mitm Taxi wieder zum Hotel gefahren wo wir oben am 39. Etage waren. Ganz oben am 40. war einen Swimmingpool. Freitag Kathleen, Maria und ich sind draussen gelaufen und haben was irgendwo gegessen. Spaeter sind wir schwimmen gegangen und der Bruder, Bobby, hat mich immer unter Wasser gezogen. Nachher sind wir schoppen gegangen in einen CD laden (Virgin) und essen gegangen. Wir sind spaet ins Bett gekommen und der naeschte Tag am 12 Uhr aufgestanden. Kathleen und ich muessten im Zimmer mit dem Hund bleiben bis ihre Familie wieder von schoppen gekommen sind, dann sind wir schoppen gegangen. Gestern duerften wir bis 14uhr im Hotel bleiben, dann muessten wir nach Hause fahren. Sonntag die Aufzuege waren zu beschaeftigt und ich habe gesagt, dass wir die 40 Etagen die treppen runterlaufen sollen und haben wir gemacht. Kathleen und Maria waren nachher boese auf mich und meine doofe Idee. :)
